Semi-Permanent Building in Kembangan Demolished

We demolish the building forcibly because the owner ignored our warning letter, whereas we have sent it twice

A semi-permanent building used as furniture business place in Pasar Minggu Village, Jalan Kembangan Raya, RT 07/01, Kembangan Selatan Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-District, West Jakarta, demolished by West Jakarta Satpol PP personnel, Wednesday (7/2). The demolishment is conducted because the owner does not have nuisance law, building permit (IMB) and disturbing citizens.

Head of West Jakarta Satpol PP, Kadiman Sitinjak said that the building stood atop land as wide as 500 square meters was demolished after his side followed up demolishment letter signed by West Jakarta Mayor, Anas Effendi dated on June 23, 2014.

"We demolish the building forcibly because the owner ignored our warning letter, whereas we have sent it twice. In addition, its furniture business also disturbs citizen activities," he expressed, Wednesday (7/2).

His side deployed 30 personnel of Satpol PP, national army, and police, as well as a excavator to the field.

Ambarwati, (48), a local citizen admitted she thanked for demolishment against the building. The furniture business has been in existence almost a year and has disturbed locals due to noises generated from electric saws.

"I don't know the building due to covered by a building's fence. Definitely, the business operates from morning until midnight until disturbing us," she told.
